Happy Fianza Friday!

Just your weekly reminder that immigration policy is a complex and politically fraught area of administrative law, which is just one of the main reasons we need a bond fund in the Midwest so that individuals are able to obtain legal counsel and fight their cases out of detention.

We're proud that one of our MIBFC Ambassadors, Amanda Garcia, will be leading a session at the virtual People in Need Forum presented by McHenry County College tomorrow (Saturday, January 23) from 9:15-10:15 am CST.

This session addresses (1) why adults are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), (2) how to support individuals in ICE detention, and (3) ways to help adults to leave ICE detention including by contributing to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund.

Attendees will learn how immigration policies impact U.S. regions far beyond the Southern border, including the Midwest.
